Nancy Teusch is a full-time mother of four andvolunteers for school, church and community organizations. Nancy grew up in Waverly, Neb. and earned a degree in history from Brigham Young University.

A message from Nancy:

In 1994 my husband and I chose Jefferson to be our permanent home. We wanted to raise our children somewhere safe, where they would have plenty of opportunities to be involved and learn and grow. In short, we wanted them to be able to ride their bikes to a friend’s house, uptown for ice cream, or to the library. Jefferson has been all that we wanted and more. We love living here!

As I have participated in various community projects, I have been interested in city government and its role in the community’s quality of life and economic health. It is in the interest of our family and business to see Jefferson thrive while maintaining the things we enjoy so much. I welcome the opportunity to give back to the community by serving as a member of the city council.

Shannon keeps busy with City Council and her appointments to many committees such as Park & Rec., Cemetery, Sports Complex, and Community Betterment. She is also an active member of Kiwanis, the Bell Tower Festival Steering Committee, the United Methodist Church, and a local sorority.

A message from Shannon:

Jefferson has always held a special place in my heart, it’s my hometown. I want my children to enjoy life here and have the opportunity to be involved in 4-H, dance, soccer, music … anything! I believe that we must continue to grow this community. Making Jefferson a city that will attract new businesses will keep jobs and families here for generations to come and keep our schools strong. It is my job, to do my part in making this a community that families want to move to and become active in. I want everyone to take pride in their hometown and get involved! I hope to set an example for my children to work hard, and give back to their community. I want them to be able to return to a prospering Jefferson after college to raise their families.
