COUNCIL MEETING

Mayor Berry presided.
No citizens spoke at the open forum.
On motion by Teusch second by Monthei, the Council approved the following consent agenda: July 8, 2008 Council Minutes, and a Class C Liquor License Permit Renewal for Sparetime Lanes & Lounge.

Tom Heater was recognized for his 11 years of service to the City of Jefferson as Code Enforcement Officer.
On motion by Teeples second by Monthei, the Council approved repairs to water well number 10 by Cahoy Well Co., with the approximate cost being $23,600. Payment will be from the Water Capital Improvement Fund.

Bill Sutton, representing the Farm Bureau requested city assistance for site improvements at their office at 201 E. Harrison. Further discussion will be held at the next Council Meeting.
On motion by Figenshaw second by Black, the Council approved a Sidewalk Replacement Policy for the city.

RESOLUTION NO. 13-08
On motion by Teusch second by Monthei, the Council approved Resolution No. 13-08, a resolution Accepting Work Covering the Lincoln Court Improvements Project.

RESOLUTION NO. 14-08
On motion by Teusch second by Teeples, the Council approved Resolution No. 14-08, a resolution Adopting Final Assessment Schedule for the Lincoln Court Improvements Project and Amending, Confirming and Levying the Assessments.

Mayor Berry reported RAGBRAI went very well.
City Administrator Palmer reported a City Council retreat will be held in late September.
The Council also discussed manhole rehabilitation; housing for workers at the Ethanol Plant; Pied Pipers Program will receive $2,000 from Community Chest; and had favorable comments on how well the Swimming Pool is being run this summer.
There being no further business the Council agreed to adjourn.
